How hiring works

From first enquiry to handing the keys back. Nine steps, and you only have to think about four of them.

Why we don't take instant bookings

Paul reads every enquiry himself and decides whether to accept it. It takes a day, and it's the reason our vehicles come back in the condition they left in.

Sending an enquiry costs nothing, needs no card details, and holds your dates while he looks at it.

What we need from you, and when

Nothing is needed before Paul has approved your enquiry. After that it's four things, spread across the booking.

Your own booking page

One link, sent to you. No account, no password, nothing emailed as an attachment. We show an example of each document so you know what a good photo looks like, most rejections are just bad light.

Anyone else driving

Additional drivers send the same four things, through their own link. Add them when you enquire so the checks run alongside yours.

How we look after them

Most hire companies never tell you what happens to your licence photo. Here's ours.

Read our privacy notice

Getting ready at the open back of a campervan

In person · about 45 minutes

Collection day

Paul walks you round the vehicle inside and out, water, gas, electrics, heating and toilet, and answers whatever you want to ask. You'll agree a condition record together with photographs, which protects your deposit as much as ours. Then you sign the hire agreement and go.

What to bring

  • Your driving licence: the physical card
  • The card you paid with
  • Any additional driver, with their licence
A vehicle dashboard, where the mileage is read on return

In person · around 20 minutes

Return day

Bring it back at the time agreed, with a full tank and the toilet cassette emptied. We'll go round it together, record the mileage and levels, and that's it. If something went wrong on the trip, tell us on the day rather than hoping we don't notice, it always goes better that way.

Your deposit

Refunded after inspection

Once the vehicle is back and inspected, less anything agreed on the day, evidenced with the handover photographs. See the deposit terms

Still not sure?

Ring Paul. He'd rather answer a question before you enquire than after, and it's him on the phone, not a call centre.

That's the whole process.

The only part that needs you to wait is Paul reading your enquiry. Everything after that runs itself.
